Board of Directors 2009-2010
PRESIDENT - Bob Isacsen, NY;
Retired Agent
Director 1990-2000
President 2008-present
Bob Isacsen is veteran of the insurance industry with an educational major in Insurance from The College of Insurance in NYC. During the first 25 years of his career he served in Sr. Vice President positions at two of the leading international insurance brokerage firms and was responsible for the production and implementation of creative risk management programs for many of the Fortune 100. Bob has always been considered one of the leading corporate insurance producers in the United States.
In 1985, Bob decided to make a career adjustment and became an Allstate agent in February, 1986. He was the first Neighborhood Office Agent (NOA) to locate in downtown Manhattan. After investing over $200,000 in his first year of agency operations, it became clear that Allstate was ill-prepared to manage a truly entrepreneurial agency force. In order to maintain his agency and his lifestyle, Bob subsidized his cash flow by engaging in non-conflicting corporate insurance consulting.
With his frustration level growing, Bob became a constant advocate for positive change within the Allstate system. In 1987, Bob suffered a total disability caused by a genetic back disorder. He quickly learned that Allstate's agent disability program had a 6 month waiting period and no provision for the continuation of new business commissions, including the office expense allowance (OEA). In other words, an agent who suffered a total disability would be virtually driven out of business. To avoid having his agency shut down, Bob released himself from the doctor's care and went back to work.
After his recovery, Bob discussed the disability inadequacy with Allstate, but learned that management, although good listeners, didn't have the power or the interest to make the necessary changes to the disability program. At this point, Bob decided to develop a disability program for the agency force, independent of Allstate.
Coincidentally, it was at this time that an Allstate agents' association was being formed in the State of Florida. It was called the National Neighborhood Office Agents Club, or NNOAC. Bob was invited to the first NNOAC meeting in Louisville, KY and volunteered to become a director. NNOAC later changed its name to the National Association of Professional Allstate Agents (NAPAA).
From 1989 to 2000, Bob held continuous director and officer positions at NNOAC/NAPAA. In the year 2000, Bob was nominated for NAPAA President and had no opposition. Unfortunately, he suffered a heart attack in early 2000, making it impossible for him to serve as president that year. Bob also served in various other capacities, including membership chairman where he was responsible for unprecedented growth. In addition to the disability program, he helped develop and introduce other programs at NAPAA.
Bob sold his $4,000,000 Allstate agency in January, 2008. He has a wealth of industry and Allstate-specific knowledge and a long history with NAPAA. He is in good health and would welcome the opportunity to be your next president. Bob believes that "Together, through NAPAA, we can help our members prepare for the ever changing agency landscape at Allstate."

Statement
Under my leadership, NAPAA began the "Legislate for Success" initiative. NAPAA's team of directors and officers has successfully transitioned our Association to meet the needs of our members in turbulent times. Our Association continues to make a difference for captive Allstate agents and I intend to do everything in my power to continue to make a positive difference for our members.
My goal is to provide an association that many more agents will want to join and more members will want to get involved. I would like to spread the "Legislate for Success" initiative to every state where NAPAA has members. My view of NAPAA is that of a business organization that works to enhance the value of its membership book of business. This will be achieved by the sharing of ideas between members and communication so that our membership always is in the forefront of the insurance industry , and that we continue to maintain the highest ethical and business practices in how we treat our clients , our membership and the company we represent .

Executive Vice President 2009-present
Debe A. Campos-Fleenor, is an active Allstate agent located in Tucson, Arizona. She began her affiliation with Allstate in 2004 when she accepted a job as a part-time staff person in an Allstate agency. She liked the work and eventually concluded that becoming an Allstate agent would be a sound career move. As a result, Debe opened her own "scratch" agency in July 2006. Now, less than two years later, the Campos-Fleenor Agency has two employees and a book of business of around 600 policies. Debe and her staff are all bilingual.
Debe joined NAPAA after she opened her agency, and she attended last year's EA Conference in Las Vegas. She won the Allstate Helping Hands Award in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In addition, the Campos-Fleenor agency has donated a total of $32,000 to the Allstate Giving Hands Campaign for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 - an average of more than $10,000 per year.
While she is active in many groups and organizations, she has a strong desire to become involved in NAPAA to make things better for Allstate agency owners. Because of her experience with other organizations, Debe is confident that she is up to the task of serving on the NAPAA board. TREASURER - Ismael Melendez, Jr. WA;
Retired Agent
Director 2006-2009
Treasurer 2009-Present
Ismael "Ish" Melendez began his Allstate career in 1989 at a Sears store in Federal Way, Washington. Not only was he one of the last of the "booth" agents hired in Washington State, but was also among the last R1500 agents hired. In 1991, Ish and two other agents opened a three person NOA office. He became an EA in June 2000 when he converted to the R3001 Agreement. He immediately bought another book of business and merged it into his, a common practice at the time. With this acquisition, he became a Senior Account Agent. Ish is an eight time Honor Ring winner and has earned National Champions two times. His office is still located in Federal Way, WA.
Ish recently shared these thoughts about NAPAA: "My commitment to NAPAA is unquestioned. I believe that we exist to offer our fellow Allstate agents a way to become successful by trying to find answers and resources to make this possible. NAPAA board members each have their own unique set of perspectives, experiences and ideas that they are willing to share in order to help both new and existing agents succeed. We believe that when agents win, Allstate wins."
Before coming to Allstate, Ish worked for the Internal Revenue Service where he held several positions, including Tax Auditor, Trainer, Acting Group Manager, Hispanic Employment Program Manager, Revenue Agent, TIP Coordinator Assistant, and Tax Shelter Examiner.
In addition to owning an Allstate agency, Ish has served in the United States Air Force on both active and reserve duty for more than 28 years. He intends to continue his USAF career until his mandatory retirement date in November, 2010. He is an ardent supporter of a strong military and is willing to "respond to the call of my country whenever needed."
Ish has a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration. He majored in marketing and minored in accounting. He has been married for nearly 24 years and has three children, ages 14, 11 and 9. He is an avid NY Yankees fan and says he "will always root for them, win or lose."
His personal philosophy: "Treat others with the same degree of dignity and respect that you desire from them. Help others achieve success for, if they succeed, we all succeed."
DIRECTOR- Ron Jay, OK;
Active Agent
Director 2006-present
Ron is the owner of the Ron Jay Agency in Yukon, OK. His began his Allstate career as an Exclusive Agent about 5 years ago in November of 2003. For many years before that, Ron worked in the Audio-Video business, first as a sales rep and then as a media director for a large church in Oklahoma City. Prior to the A/V business he started a charter bus company, which he later sold. It is alive and well today, and has become the largest charter company in Oklahoma.
I was born in Los Angeles but moved to Oklahoma as a small child. My father was a minister and I lived all around Oklahoma in my younger life. I have since lived in Houston, Dallas, and San Diego but Oklahoma is ‘home".
I am a graduate of Southwestern University in Oklahoma City with a major in Math and a minor in speech. During and since my college days I have traveled with a southern gospel-singing group called "The Gentry". The same (4) original members from 1971 are still active in the group.
I will be married to my wife Lanette 28 years in October of this year. I have one son, Nichlas, 26, who lives in Dallas and is an extremely gifted musician and songwriter. He has traveled extensively with several contemporary Christian groups over the past few years.
I am truly honored to be a part of NAPAA and I only hope that I can make a small contribution to the success of this organization. I firmly believe that NAPAA has much to offer any agency owner.

Greg is a fervent and longtime supporter of NAPAA. During the 2009 NAPAA Conference in Savannah, he decided to get involved by running for the board of directors. Greg plans to put his deep-felt passion to good use by becoming actively involved with the NAPAA Board of Directors.
I enjoy fishing and working out in my spare time.

DIRECTOR- Liz Solis, FL;
Active Agent
Director 2009-present
Liz Solis is an Allstate agent in Miramar, Florida. She became an Exclusive Agent in 2005. Prior to joining Allstate, she was a civil engineer, specializing in environmental studies, city planning and site development. She was employed by Biscayne Engineering, a major contributor in the development of South Florida. She enjoys the challenge of selling insurance, especially on the life and financial side. But she admits, "there is always more to learn in the insurance business," which is why she continues to work hard developing more knowledge, experience and expertise. As she says, "The more I know, the better I can serve my customers."
Liz is involved in several community organizations such as Lee Denim Day (for breast cancer awareness), Sheridan House Ministries, where she served on the development board for a community that was established for single mothers suffering from abusive relationships, and teaching Bible studies to pre-school children in the AWANA program at her local church. Her strong belief in social wellness motivated her to become a Red Cross volunteer in the relief and recovery efforts following Hurricane Andrew and subsequently in the redevelopment of the hardest hit areas in South Florida while employed at Biscayne Engineering.
Liz is happily married to her college sweetheart. They have four children.
